Hold'em championship

The rules of Poker are really very simple, but over the years people have shrouded them in mystery to make them seem like better players. In truth, Poker is as much a game of skill as it is a game of luck.

In essence the aim in poker is to obtain one of the best set combinations that allow you to win. The highest and hardest hand to get is a "Royal Flush," which consists of 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace, all of the same colour and sign. this is the hand that wins every other hand there is, and it is also of course the hardest to get. Then come the straight flush, which is five of the numerical cards in a row and of the same suit. If there are two straight flushes on the table, then the hand that has the higher flush wins. The next hand is four of a kind, that is, four cards that have the same numerical value. The full house is for some reason the most famous hand in poker, evn though it does not win all. It occurs when three of the cards have the same numerical value, and the remaing two also have the same numerical value.

There are of course many more types of hands that allow you to win poker, but it would be too long to go in to them now. In any case, before the cards are dealt each player forks out an ante, which means that every player bets a symbolic amount. This can be a very low amount or a six figure number, depending on who you are and what you do. Then the dealer hands out the cards and each player bets again according to what they have in their hands. It is important not to let on what you have in your hand, it is entirly possible that you may be doing it without knowing it.

For instance, one mistake that you can make in poker is smile when you have a good hand or be too consrevative a player. this is especially true if you are playing with an experienced player in which case you will no doubt lose all that you have anyway, so in the end it makes no difference.
